Start with what the employer actually needs
A familiar job title can mean different things across countries and employers. Read the responsibilities, essential requirements and application instructions before preparing. Keep the original advert alongside your notes so you can check the details again.
Make your experience easy to understand
Projects, work and activities from another country can still provide useful evidence. Explain the setting, your contribution and what happened. Expand unfamiliar qualifications or organisation names where it helps the reader. Do not add skills or results you cannot support.
Separate career preparation from permission to work
SPP is not an immigration adviser. Check the employer's stated requirements and official guidance for your circumstances. Do not assume that a vacancy, a Fit result or an employer name confirms sponsorship or your eligibility.
Prepare for a conversation, not just a form
Save examples that show how you worked with others, solved problems and learned something new. Use Interview Preparation to organise your own STAR stories and practise explaining them clearly.
A useful place to start
- Record your target roles and locations.
- Build a CV with accurate, understandable evidence.
- Compare a role with your experience, then review your application.
Your next chapter
You do not need every answer. Just a clearer next step.
